Don Davis currently serves as the division chief for Robotics and Autonomous Systems, a division of the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) dedicated to the development of new technologies for unmanned systems, including collaborative autonomy, intelligent robotics, and test and evaluation of platforms and systems. This work encompasses networks of unmanned systems, including ground, air, and marine, as well as sensors including RF, EO/IR, bio/chemical, and hyper-spectral imaging.
Previously, he led the Signals and Systems branch at GTRI, addressing signal intelligence and electronic warfare applications. He has more than 30 years of experience developing solutions and leading engineering organizations in a diverse array of technologies, including optical fiber and communications systems, optical test equipment, fiber optic components, high speed laser transmitters, RF amplifiers, and network hardware and software.
Davis serves as an adjunct professor in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he teaches classes and is a member of the Optics Research Group.
