Rob Bever is a software engineer at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), where he develops technology for manned and unmanned aircraft systems. He has worked on threat simulators, ground station software, and visualization and controls for manned and unmanned systems. He has also worked on projects involving missile simulation, streaming video over local cellular networks and 3D visualization of aircraft motion.
Prior to joining GTRI in 2009, Bever first worked for General Dynamics for three years as a software developer. While there, he focused on visualization and simulation projects for DARPA. He then worked for DRS Technologies for three years, where he was part of the team building a transmit-capable military satellite radio unit, focusing on the encryption components. Bever then led the software team working on an improved receive-only satellite radio.
