The Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines presents a seminar by David J. Reinkensmeyer of the University of California, Irvine. The event will be held in the Marcus Nanotechnology Building, Rooms 1116-1118, from 12:15-1:15 p.m. and is open to the public.

Bio

David J. Reinkensmeyer received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 and 1993. His dissertation work focused on human control of hand movements and robotic devices for movement therapy after stroke.

Reinkensmeyer was a postdoctoral fellow, then research assistant professor, in the Sensory Motor Performance Program at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Medical School from 1994 through 1998. He joined the University of California, Irvine in 1998, and is currently a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology, and the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
